Synthesis and Reflection
Media Law (1/2 PAGE)
One thing i have learned from Media Law is that there are restrictions in what you can post and what you can't post. A new concept for me was obscenity, i didn't exactly know the word for that kind of content and it was interesting to learn more about it. Obscenity is one of those things where its either this or that, and in this case it would be inappropriate, explicit, or overall offensive. As a journalist though i feel like ill be able to decide what is obscene or not, or i will be able to depict weather or not i can post an article regarding that topic. In real news though i feel like a journalist or reporter would know better when it comes to posting articles. Im going to think differently about it as a writer because there are things that i don't find explicit or offensive as a person but might find it explicit or inappropriate as a writer. Obscenity is important because before you publish that article you are responsible for how you see it. For example if i were to want to publish an article about new music i would have to make sure my content is viewable for everyopne, unless listed otherwise.
Fake News (1/2 PAGE)
While lerning about fake news a lot of things came to mind, but with some more nothes something became really clear. Biased News happens a lot more than some may think. At first i thought that biased just means you like that side, person, or topic better than the opposing, but i never realized how much we see it on popular sites like facebook and twitter for example. I am going to start paying attention more to what i see online. I think differently about it now because the more i am online the more i can see how people really feel about certain topics. As a journalist i feel like having a biased opinion about something gives that article something less than what a non-biased article would have, that second side with facts and statements for the opposing. That would give your writing a little less credibility because it doesnt have all of the facts. other than hat i feel my work is barely biased, compaqred to some articles ive read.
